Take a visit to the stunning Jumeirah Mosque, the only mosque in Dubai that welcomes non-Muslim guests six days a week. Note that women are asked to wear a scarf when visiting.
One of the most beautiful landmarks in Dubai, the Jumeirah Mosque, which is large enough to hold up to 1,200 worshippers, was built entirely from white stone in the medieval Fatimid tradition, with towering twin minarets framing a large central dome. When it's lit up at dusk, the intricate artistry and true beauty are highlighted.
Being the only mosque that welcomes non-Muslim visitors, and having conducted tours, Jumeirah Mosque provides a unique opportunity to learn about Emirati culture and religion in a relaxed, casual and open atmosphere. The beautiful architecture can be even better appreciated in the sunset hours when the building glows. Organised tours are at 10:00 am on all mornings except Fridays. You don't need a reservation, but you should arrive at the main entrance at least 15 minutes in advance. The tour lasts about 75 minutes and one is expected to be attired modestly. Photography is allowed inside.
